Biodiversity Management
We recognise that our operations interact closely with the natural environment.
We are committed to managing these interactions responsibly, balancing economic development with the protection and conservation of biodiversity.

Our Conservation Sites
Gunung Kanthan, Perak
Located within the Kinta Valley Geopark, Gunung Kanthan is a unique tropical limestone karst ecosystem with diverse microhabitats that support a high concentration of endemic and threatened species.
Through the Kanthan Biodiversity Conservation Initiative, we have undertaken extensive biodiversity assessments and implemented targeted conservation efforts, including species translocation, habitat rehabilitation, and long-term ecological monitoring.
Research conducted in collaboration with academic partners has strengthened our understanding of the site’s ecological and geological significance, supporting more informed planning and management of surrounding operations.

Gua Pinang, Langkawi, Kedah
At Gua Pinang, our efforts focus on conserving karst landscapes and their surrounding ecosystems through research, monitoring, and collaboration.
Baseline biodiversity studies conducted with Universiti Malaya have identified:
- •24 flora species assessed under international conservation frameworks
- •35 fauna species protected under the Wildlife Conservation Act 2010
- •Over 50 bird species, indicating strong forest-dependent biodiversity
These findings guide conservation planning and reinforce the ecological importance of Langkawi’s limestone habitats.
